World Cup Qatar 2022 is the 22nd FIFA World Cup. It is the first time in history that Qatar has held in Qatar and Middle Eastern countries, and it is the second World Cup in Asia after the 2002 South Korea and Japan World Cup. The World Cup Qatar 2022 is also the first time that the Winter World Cup has been held in the northern hemisphere, and the first World Cup soccer tournament hosted by a country that has never played in the World Cup. The World Cup Qatar 2022 will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in 12 stadiums in 7 cities in Qatar (the schedule will be reduced from 32 days to 28 days).
City Stadium part 1:
1. Sports City Stadium
Sports City Stadium is located on the east coast of Doha, along the Persian Gulf coast. The stadium’s main facilities are retractable, including roofs, seats and lawns.
According to the designer's vision, the Sports City will be a multifunctional stadium that also embodies important Arab cultural elements. The main inspiration for the structure of the stadium is the Bedouin tent, a traditional residence of the Arabs. This kind of tent is simple in design and can adapt to the surrounding environment.
The inspiration for the design comes from the bedouin tents. The roof is partially retractable.
After the World Cup, it is the only stadium in Qatar which seating capacity will remain unchanged. The energy to power the building is sun-generated on the roof. A complex cooling system is planned for the stadium's spectators and players. The building is zero-carbon emissions proof.
The stadium will host group matches, and the 3rd place playoff.
2.Lusail stadium:
Located in the new Lusail district, about 15 kilometers north of the Qatari capital Doha, the Lusail Stadium will host the opening ceremony, the opening match, the final and the closing ceremony. As the single building with the largest span and the largest overhanging distance of any cable network system of its type in the world, it is also the largest venue of this year's World Cup, with a capacity of 80,000 people.
Designed by Foster+Partners, the venue draws on Arabian architecture, with Islamic date bowls and enameled lanterns as inspiration, presenting a very Middle Eastern-style golden bowl-like vessel shape.
To be continued...
Low carbon, green energy will be the trend of the future:
In and around stadiums, lighting is indispensable, a competition arena can consume several hundred degrees of electricity a night, if the use of solar lights, in environmental protection and reduce carbon emissions in the achievement is very considerable.
